you believe that it is almost one year since Ben Haenow won the 2014
series of The X Factor? We’re not quite sure where the past year has
gone.
Over the past year, Mr. Haenow has been busy at work on his self-titled debut album, and a couple of weeks ago he unleashed the lead single from the album, Second Hand Heart.
However, there was definitely no messing around when it came to the first single as he collaborated with the one and only Kelly Clarkson – what an amazing feat for the lead single from a debut album.
It’s quite appropriate that Ben Haenow returned to the stage of the first live show of the series for more than one reason – to show the guys who are performing live for the first time tonight that dreams really do come true. However, it’s appropriate as he needs some much needed promo. Sadly, Second Hand Heart only went to number 21 in the UK Singles Chart when it was released earlier this month, and that’s even with the help of Kelly Clarkson.
Despite all that, there’s no denying that Ben has a fantastic voice, and his performance this evening reminded us of just why we all fell in love with him around a year ago when his audition first aired on The X Factor.
Fleur East is due to release her debut single from her
debut album next Friday, and there’s a LOT more buzz surrounding her
debut single SAX than there was surrounding Ben’s. We may see what typically happens so much – the runner-up doing better than the winner.
However, 2011 winners Little Mix are due to take to the stage tomorrow evening, and their appearance will restore our faith in The X Factor juggernaut as they’ve gone on to take the world by storm since they won the show a few years back. The lead single from their new album Black Magic went to number 1 earlier this year, and it’s looking like their album Get Weird will go to the top spot when it is released next week.
