Sia took to the stage on The Voice on Tuesday night to give a powerful rendition of her new song Alive.
In
her usual fashion the 39-year-old singer made sure the focus was solely
on her vocals during the performance by staying out of the spotlight.
Sia
stood in the shadows and kept her face hidden from the audience wearing
a bluntly cut half-black half-blonde shoulder length wig with long
fringe.

vocals remain the focus
She's a pro: Sia performed her new hit Alive to the delight of the audience of the live results show
Tuesday night's episode saw contestants battle it out to be one of the nine lucky singers to go through to the semi-final.
During an appearance with Ellen DeGeneres
earlier the same the day, Sia revealed part of the reason she doesn't
like to show her face now that she's achieved international stardom.
'Well
it's just so that I can go to Target and buy a hose if I want to,' she
joked, adding: 'Or if I find I'm in need of a restroom, I can go in the
side of the road, no one would be following me with a camera trying to
get a shot.'
Monochrome look: Sia's face was covered with a half black and half white wig
Explanation: Earlier in the day Sia
appeared on the Ellen DeGeneres show and explained she keeps her face
hidden beneath wigs so that she can 'shop at Target' if she wants to
Ellen,
a friend of the singer, admitted that she had in fact seen her face in
private and encouraged her to shed her wig to show others her beauty.
'You're
beautiful,' she said, before urging the star to remove the eccentric
hairpiece. 'Are you going to do it?' the chat show veteran asked to the
delight of the studio audience.
Unfortunately
for fans the star didn't remove her wig - but obviously a quick search
online reveals how the singer looked without the edgy wigs pre-mega
stardom.
Dramatic: Sia performed on the Ellen show alongside dance star Maddie Ziegler
Getting involved: The host thrust
herself onto the stage to be part of the fun as she lay down on the
floor by Sia and Maggie at the end of their performance
In a piece for Billboard two years ago the songstress explained the more serious reason behind concealing her face from the media.
'If anyone besides famous people knew what it was like to be a famous person, they would never want to be famous.' she said.
'Imagine
the stereotypical highly opinionated, completely uninformed
mother-in-law character and apply it to every teenager with a computer
in the entire world. Then add in all bored people, as well as people
whose job it is to report on celebrities.
'Then, picture that creature, that force, criticizing you for an hour straight once a day, every day, day after day.'
