Carrie Underwood made her big X Factor debut tonight, during the quarter final results show.
It was a tense episode, as the final five acts waited backstage to hear which one of them was set to be eliminated and wouldn’t be advancing to next weekend’s penultimate stage, so it was nice to have the drama broken up a bit with a laid back Carrie performance!
The American Idol winner was there to showcase her new single Heartbeat, which was recorded for her fifth studio album, Storyteller (2015). The track has been a huge hit for the blonde beauty back home and debuted at number five on the Country Digital Songs chart on October 19 in the US. Underwood performed the song live at the 43rd annual American Music Awards on November 22.
Earlier this week Carrie thanked her fans for all their support over the years and tweeted: “#HAPPYTHANKSGIVING! I just sat down to write a list of the things I am thankful for & I am overwhelmed! I hope you all have an amazing day!”
This evening Carrie took to the stage in a stunning floor length silver dress, looking every inch the superstar and belted out her emotional and stripped back tune.
Not all viewers were pleased by the performance though and responses on twitter were rather negative. They included: “I get Carrie Underwood is huge in America but I still dont care she’s on X factor and even worse, I’ve no song to sing along to!”

“Never heard of Carrie underwood before where has she came from and why is she floating up on X factor
