OLD enough to remember when rock was young, Elton John has stuck to his ideal that music should primarily be fun.
After 47 years on the road, including an incredible 17 tours to Australia, he showed no signs of not enjoying songs he’s been playing for the majority of that journey.
Drawing heavily on his highly popular 70s material, Elton and his five-piece band delivered a 24-song, 140-minute show at Mt Duneed Estate that left no fan disappointed.

Taking to the A Day on the Green stage with a low-key and surprisingly early entrance, the 68-year-old provided a definitive early statement on his intentions.
If you were in any doubt about what to expect at a show dubbed the All The Hits Tour, Elton put fans’ minds at ease with four cuts off his 1973 masterpiece, Goodbye Yellow Brick Road.
With more than 50 Top 40 hits, he has no shortage of songs in his back catalogue to delve into.
